Lilly and Davis' Story

Lilly Mae and Davis Anthony were born on Sunday, December 4th. They were born at 25 weeks and 5 days of gestation.

Lilly was born first at 9:56PM. She weighed 1 pound and 14 ounces and was 13.25 inches long. Her head was 24 cm in circumference (slightly smaller than a baseball).

Davis was born at 10:07PM... 11 minutes after his sister (something she'll never let him forget). He weighed 1 pound and 13 ounces. He was 13 inches long and had the same size head as his sister.

Both were taken to the NICU directly after delivery and are expected to be there until their original due date, March 12th (that's exactly 100 days in the NICU!)

Please keep these little ones in your thoughts and prayers and hopefully we will get to bring them home sooner!

Day 9 - 12/12/11

Dad teaching Lilly how to say Go Bulls!!!

Lilly and dad's first snuggle time!

Today was a great day for the little ones!!! Lilly hit the 2 pound mark during her 8:00PM weigh in! Davis weighed in at 1 pound and 15 ounces! Woohoo, they are getting big!!!

Lilly and Davis both had to get their brains scanned with an ultrasound today to check for brain bleeds, a common procedure for preemies. The results were great, there were no signs of bleeding!

Both kids are getting 10 ml of food every 3 hours now. They should start to gain 1/2 an ounce each day.

Lilly got to snuggle with daddy for the first time today, while Davis got to spend some time with mommy. They both seem to really love spending time with their parents (although Davis did spit up on mommy...).

  1. Davis doesn't sound like he is going to get to borrow the car often :). So glad to hear they are doing good and getting plump!

  3. YAY to great days!!!!! I just delivered my 26wk 2days son on November 3rd. He is 32 wks gestation today...and 6 wks old on thursday! Keep your head up and your attitiude positive. Hang in there, and worry about today. You can worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. :o) Keep the what ifs away, and pick out a positive to focus on even if/when the babies have setbacks. There is always something positive! Also, I'd like to give you my blog about my son, if maybe it can help you in any way.... www.austinkimmey.blogspot.com He, too was 1 lb 14oz, 13 inches at birth. I am cousins with Stephanie and have been thinking and praying for you and your family since you were in labor. I'd like to extend an invitation to contact me if ever you are feeling like you need someone whom can relate 100%. We are in the same city. Again, congrats and many many prayers your way!!! Stay strong momma! Time does go by quickly... even in the nicu! I cant believe its been 6 weeks (almost) since my Austin has blessed us by coming into our lives.... it does feel like forever, though, that I was laying in that hospital fighting to keep him "in". HUGS to you!!! I like to believe that mothers like us are CHOSEN to be mommy's to these babies because we are a special kind of mommy! OUr AUstin is SO VERY STRONG... and it sounds that you have a couple strong fighters with you as well!!! Great things to come... the battle is worth it in the end, i just know it! One day, as i'm told... this will be a distant memory... but one that has a hold of our heart always. Hugs and Prayers. Andrea
