Lilly and Davis' Story

Lilly Mae and Davis Anthony were born on Sunday, December 4th. They were born at 25 weeks and 5 days of gestation.

Lilly was born first at 9:56PM. She weighed 1 pound and 14 ounces and was 13.25 inches long. Her head was 24 cm in circumference (slightly smaller than a baseball).

Davis was born at 10:07PM... 11 minutes after his sister (something she'll never let him forget). He weighed 1 pound and 13 ounces. He was 13 inches long and had the same size head as his sister.

Both were taken to the NICU directly after delivery and are expected to be there until their original due date, March 12th (that's exactly 100 days in the NICU!)

Please keep these little ones in your thoughts and prayers and hopefully we will get to bring them home sooner!

Day 33 - 1/5/12

Day 33...

Today is the first day that Lindsey and I did not go and see the kids in the NICU :( Lindsey is having some issues from her pregnancy, so couldn't make it to the hospital this evening. Lindsey is going to have surgery tomorrow to fix everything, so hopefully we will be back to see our little ones within the next day or two.

We did talk to the nurses today (several times... We're probably considered the crazy parents in the NICU) and everything is going well for both kids. Everything was fine with Lilly's cultures, so they pulled the IV from her head (that's right, her head... Maybe they can find a good vein in her face next time to see if they can freak out mom and dad a little more...). Lilly is also back to full feeds. So, all good news with her today!

Davis is still doing great! No real news with him. No big changes, just continuing to let him grow and get stronger.

Weigh in... Lilly stayed the same at 2 pounds and 12 ounces. Davis gained a couple ounces and is now 2 pounds and 9 ounces.

  1. from another mother in the nicu daily.... Hang in there. Our son (born at 26 wks- now 9 wks old) has had two blood transfusions, and as he grew bigger, and older, when he would be pale, and blood count was low, his retic showed his immature cells develpoing... so hang in there... she will begin to develop her own red blood cells soon! I'm sorry to hear about the isolation, such a bummer the two cant be together... but she will get big and strong and everything will be great! Yay to davis! He is a trooper! many prayers daily

  2. Hang in there, guys! Many prayers still headed your way. I'm sure you're not the "crazy" parents. You'd be crazy to not be concerned.
Overall, sounds like good news for both of them. That is awesome!
Keep it up, Lilly & Davis! You guys are champs!
My best to Lindsey on her recovery!
