Lilly and Davis' Story

Lilly Mae and Davis Anthony were born on Sunday, December 4th. They were born at 25 weeks and 5 days of gestation.

Lilly was born first at 9:56PM. She weighed 1 pound and 14 ounces and was 13.25 inches long. Her head was 24 cm in circumference (slightly smaller than a baseball).

Davis was born at 10:07PM... 11 minutes after his sister (something she'll never let him forget). He weighed 1 pound and 13 ounces. He was 13 inches long and had the same size head as his sister.

Both were taken to the NICU directly after delivery and are expected to be there until their original due date, March 12th (that's exactly 100 days in the NICU!)

Please keep these little ones in your thoughts and prayers and hopefully we will get to bring them home sooner!

Day 55 - 1/27/12

Davis's CRP results dropped today... from 19 to 14. However, we found out Davis has a urinary tract infection.... boooooooo! Apparently these are pretty common for little preemie boys. They started him on antibiotics, hopefully knocking it out quickly. They also had to move Davis to a high flow machine. Between the infection and 5 attempts to get an IV in him, his CO2 levels increased and they wanted to give him more breathing support. Thankfully, they finally did get a good IV in his foot... we were worried they may actually start looking at his face for a vein.


Lilly is doing well today. They lowered her CPAP support and she is handling it great!


Weigh in... Davis gained 2 ounces! He is now 3 pounds and 12 ounces. Lilly gained an ounce and she is now weighing 3 pounds and 5 ounces!
